Frequently Asked Questions about the Valparaíso-Santiago Private Transfer
What transfer options do you offer, and which should I choose?
1. Direct Transfer - the fastest service. A private door-to-door transfer, ideal when you need to protect a check-in time, connect with a cruise or flight schedule, or travel efficiently between Valparaíso, Santiago and Santiago Airport. This is the best option for a safe, comfortable and discreet transfer without unnecessary stops.
2. Transfer with Photo Stops, Wine Tasting or Lunch at a Winery. Designed for travelers who have more time and would like to turn the journey between Valparaíso and Santiago into a relaxed private experience. Depending on your schedule, route, winery opening hours and availability on your travel date, we can include short panoramic photo stops, a wine tasting in Casablanca Valley, or lunch at a winery. The listed price covers usually 3 hours, up to a maximum of 4, including photo stops and a wine tasting; extra time such as a second winery or lunch at a winery is quoted at the booking stage.
All details are discussed separately for each private transfer, because the final timing depends on traffic, weather, your cruise or flight schedule, winery reservations, and the time needed to reach your final destination.
How long does the direct transfer between Valparaíso and Santiago take?
On multi-lane rural roads light vehicles may drive up to 120 km/h where permitted, while real driving speeds usually average around 90 km/h depending on road, traffic and weather. Travel times vary with traffic and terminal procedures, so we build realistic buffers around check-in windows and ship or flight schedules.
How long does the transfer with photo and wine stops take?
If you need more time - for example a second winery or lunch at a winery - the price is discussed and agreed at the booking stage.
Which photo stops can I choose along the way?
• Casablanca Valley - valley viewpoint or winery stop, directly on Route 68.
• Valparaíso - Paseo 21 de Mayo (Cerro Playa Ancha): a panoramic view over the bay and the port.
• Valparaíso - Paseo Yugoslavo (Cerro Alegre) and Mirador Diego Portales (Cerro Barón): classic views of the bay and the colourful hillsides.
• Viña del Mar - Mirador Jorge Alessandri (Cerro Castillo): views over Caleta Abarca and the coastline.
The Valparaíso and Viña del Mar viewpoints depend on the location of your hotel - whether you are staying in Valparaíso or in Viña del Mar - so we choose the ones that fit naturally on the way to or from your address. Stops are arranged time permitting, before your hotel or the passenger port terminal drop-off.
Which wineries can be included on the way?
Casas del Bosque is a good option for travelers who would like to combine a wine tasting with lunch at the winery. Viña Indómita can be a convenient choice for those who want a panoramic view over Casablanca Valley. Attilio & Mochi is a smaller boutique winery option for guests who prefer a more intimate wine experience.
Depending on your timing, the winery stop may include a simple wine tasting, a short countryside break, or lunch at the winery. All details are discussed separately for each private transfer, because winery visits depend on opening hours, reservation availability, the day of the week, your travel schedule, and the time needed to reach your final destination.
Can we include lunch at a winery?
A winery lunch will make the transfer longer than a simple direct transfer or a short tasting stop. We will confirm the best option according to your timing, route, and the wineries available on your date.

How much luggage can I bring?

When can traffic affect the Valparaíso-Santiago route?

• December 24 and 31, when many head to Valparaíso Bay, and on the return to Santiago after holiday weekends.
• Viña del Mar Song Festival (late February) - heavy traffic in both directions.
• Fridays, Saturdays and before long weekends toward the coast, and Sunday evening or early Monday back toward Santiago.
