Frequently Asked Questions

Which Chile cruise ports do you offer shore excursions from?
We provide private shore excursions and cruise-day services from San Antonio and Valparaiso. Programs at other Chilean cruise ports are available upon request — for example Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco, Punta Arenas, Coquimbo, and Arica. This page highlights our most popular options, especially San Antonio, the main gateway port for Santiago. If your port is not listed, please send us your ship name and date. We’ll advise on available options and recommend the best plan.
How can I confirm whether my ship starts or ends in San Antonio or Valparaiso?
Start by reviewing your cruise itinerary. Santiago is inland, so cruise lines use coastal ports and naming conventions may vary. The most reliable ways to check are:
  • Your booking confirmation or itinerary — often listed as “Santiago (San Antonio)”, “San Antonio (for Santiago)”, or “Valparaiso (Santiago)”.
  • The cruise line app (Port Information) — usually shows the exact terminal for embarkation or disembarkation.
  • Public cruise schedule sites — searching by ship name and date can help as a cross-check.
If you’re still unsure, send us your ship name and sailing date (or a screenshot of the itinerary), and we’ll confirm the port and help plan your day.
What’s the difference between San Antonio and Valparaiso for cruise-day planning?
Both ports serve as embarkation or disembarkation points in central Chile and may appear as “Santiago’s cruise port,” depending on the itinerary. The main difference is how the day flows.
  • San Antonio: since 2017, it has been the most common port for embarkation and disembarkation. It’s easy to combine a transfer to or from Santiago with visits to Leyda Valley or Casablanca Valley, as well as stops in Algarrobo or Isla Negra (Pablo Neruda’s house). Visiting Valparaiso from San Antonio is possible, but it requires extra driving.
  • Valparaiso: places you directly inside a historic port city. It’s easier to enjoy viewpoints and street art without a transfer, and still reach Santiago via Route 68 or visit wineries in Casablanca Valley.
The overall offer is similar from both ports, but routing matters — some wineries and stops are more convenient from one port than the other. We also offer multi-day pre- and post-cruise programs. If you’re unsure which port or route fits your plans best, just ask — we’ll recommend the best option.
Are your shore excursions private or shared?
All excursions are private by default, with a dedicated vehicle and a flexible pace. Larger groups enjoy better value per person. If you meet other travelers on board and wish to explore together, we’re happy to organize a group excursion. If budget is a concern, feel free to contact us. When possible, we can match guests interested in the same date and route.
Can we customize the itinerary to our pace and interests?
Yes — custom itineraries are our specialty. Tell us what you’d like to focus on (Santiago highlights, Valparaiso, wineries, coastal towns, photo stops, minimal walking), and what comes next after the tour (boarding, hotel, or flight). We’ll suggest a realistic itinerary with comfortable timing and a relaxed pace.
Where will we meet the driver or guide?
We’ll meet you at the agreed starting point and share contact details in advance. Your driver or guide will be holding a sign with your name.
  • At the cruise port: outside the passenger terminal, after disembarkation.
  • At Santiago airport (SCL): in the arrivals hall, right after customs.
  • At your hotel: in the lobby, at the scheduled pickup time.
After booking, you’ll receive a voucher with all details. We stay in touch on the day of your excursion — WhatsApp or messaging works best.
Do you offer private transfers between Santiago / SCL and the cruise ports?
Yes. We provide private transfers between Santiago (hotels) or Santiago airport (SCL) and the cruise ports, including San Antonio and Valparaiso. You may choose:
  • Direct transfer — efficient and straightforward.
  • Transfer with a stop — such as a winery in Casablanca Valley or a coastal viewpoint, if it fits your schedule comfortably.
Typical driving time is 1.5–2 hours, depending on traffic and exact locations. We always plan with sensible buffers.
Is this suitable for families or guests with limited mobility?
In many cases, yes — with the right route.
  • Families: we keep the day flexible and can provide child seats on request (please share ages and weights in advance).
  • Limited mobility: we can reduce walking, avoid steep areas, and select more accessible stops. Some areas, especially in Valparaiso, have hills and uneven pavement, so we adapt the plan to your comfort.
What should we wear and bring for the day?
Comfortable walking shoes are essential. We also recommend:
  • Light layers for the coastal breeze.
  • Sun protection (sunglasses and sunscreen).
  • A small pouch or money belt for documents and valuables.
  • Some cash in Chilean pesos for small purchases (cards are widely accepted).
Cruise cards are usually not needed on embarkation or disembarkation days. Keeping essentials close in busy port and city areas is simply common-sense travel advice.
What languages do your drivers and guides speak?
Our tours are designed for English-speaking travelers, and English-speaking guides are available for all excursions. If you need a specific language, let us know and we’ll confirm availability before you book.
