Handmade Paper Workshop & Wine Tasting Full Day Experience

At 9:00 a.m., a driver and local guide will meet you at your accommodation in Santiago.

The first stop is Inventando Papeles, a small family-run workshop dedicated to handmade paper. With guidance from a master artisan, you learn how the raw materials are prepared and turned into sheets of paper by hand. The process is simple to follow, but very tactile: cutting, soaking, mixing, lifting the frame and seeing the paper take shape.
The workshop uses plant fibers, leaves, flowers, seeds and herbs to create paper with different textures and colors. Some sheets are plain and delicate; others include visible natural details, such as petals, fibers or seeds.
You will see thick and thin, white and colored paper. Paper with seeds, leaves, and flowers that has a unique texture and looks like an art product. Some sheets of paper made in the workshop go to the table of the card designers, artists, decorators, and jewelers. Others become invitation tickets and elements of decoration at events and wedding celebrations.
You will have time to choose the paper you like best or look carefully at different styles and types of paper. Touch their texture with your fingers and feel what this or that sheet can tell you.

After that, we will have lunch at the winery's restaurant or a neighboring one. According to date and availability, we will stop for a wine tour at one of the following wineries in the San Antonio Valley: Casa Marin vineyard, the biodynamic Matetic vineyard, or the exclusive Garces Silva vineyard, known for its excellent wines. The vineyard visit could take us about 1 hour and a half. During the winery visit, you will learn about the valley’s cool-climate wines and taste selected labels produced near the Pacific coast.

Arrive back in Santiago between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
