Tour Overview:
Ride through the Ritoque Dunes, one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes within easy reach of Santiago. This private horseback experience takes you across open dunes, coastal wetlands, and the beach, with wide views over the Pacific.
The tour is designed around the ride itself and suits beginners, families, and experienced riders alike. When the terrain and conditions allow, confident riders may enjoy longer stretches at trot, canter, or gallop, while first-time riders can take it at a slower pace.
Depending on the option you choose, the ride lasts about 2.5–3 hours or 5–5.5 hours. The full-day version focuses on the longer ride and lunch by the coast, while the half-day option combines a shorter ride with a wine tasting at a Casablanca Valley winery.
Pickup is available from Santiago or from coastal hotels in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Concón, and Reñaca.

Itinerary Details:
Pick-Up from Santiago or Coastal Hotel
Pick-up is from your hotel - either in Santiago at 8:00 am, or directly from a coastal hotel in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Concón or Reñaca later in the morning if you have selected one of the "From the Coast" options. Your private guide and driver will meet you in the lobby.
Transfer to Ritoque
If we start in Santiago, we take Route 68 west toward the Pacific coast — about two hours, depending on traffic. From a coastal hotel, the transfer is shorter and more direct; the exact duration depends on the location of your hotel.
Horseback Riding Experience
This private horseback riding tour in the Ritoque Dunes is the main highlight of the day. After getting fitted with the equipment and receiving a short safety briefing, we set off with our local horse-riding guide toward the dunes. The route follows sandy trails, open dunes and coastal wetlands, with views of the Pacific Ocean for much of the ride.
There is a reason riders from Santiago keep coming back here: very few places on the central coast allow you to ride for hours through a landscape like this. The pace of the ride is adapted to the group. Beginners and families ride at a calm pace. More confident riders may be able to pick up the pace in the open sections — including canter or gallop when terrain, weather and safety conditions allow. If the group is large and mixed, riders are often divided into smaller groups so that nobody is held back and nobody is pushed beyond their comfort level.
Shorter ride, 2.5 hours: the best option if you want to enjoy the dunes and ocean views without making the day too physically demanding.
Extended ride, 5 hours: the full Ritoque Dunes horseback ride experience, with more time in the saddle, longer open sections and a better chance to enjoy a faster pace if you have riding experience.
Lunch in Concón
After the ride, we head to Concón for lunch at a selected coastal restaurant — usually a fishermen’s cove or a traditional seaside restaurant. The menu is based on fresh fish, seafood and seasonal produce.
Transfer to the San Antonio Valley for Wine Tasting
Only for the short-ride option
After lunch, we continue toward the San Casablanca Valley for a wine tasting experience.
Wine Tasting
Only for the short-ride option
Depending on the date and winery availability, we will stop at one of the wineries in the Casablanca Valley — such as Casas del Bosque, Attilio & Mochi, or another selected winery in the area.
You will get to know Chile’s wine traditions and see how wine is made in practice — what happens to the grapes after harvest, how the flavor develops, and what to pay attention to during a tasting..
You will taste 3–4 varieties of local wine.
Return Transfer
We drive back to your hotel — either to Santiago, which may take up to 2 hours depending on traffic, or to your coastal hotel in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Concón or Reñaca. From the Casablanca Valley to the coast, the transfer usually takes about 50 minutes.
Drop-off
Arrival at your hotel between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, depending on the selected tour variant.
