Transfer to the starting point
After registration our driver will take us to the parking lot.
Walk to Pier
From the parking lot, we will walk through the nearby forest, cross the hanging bridge over the Grey River, and stroll along the sandy spit of Lake Grey Beach to the pier. You'll observe typical Patagonian tundra flora, Grey Lake's shoreline views, and floating icebergs. The lake's color ranges from milky to greenish-blue depending on weather and light.
Grey Glacier Boat Tour
After boarding, the boat crosses Lake Grey toward the glacier, with views of floating icebergs, mountains and the Paine landscape. After a stop near the refuge area, the navigation continues closer to Grey Glacier.
From the boat, you get a clear view of the ice wall and its blue and white tones. The boat comes close enough to give you a real sense of the glacier’s size, while always keeping a safe distance.
The onboard guide explains the glacier’s geology, the history of the area and the wildlife that can be seen around Lake Grey. There are also good opportunities for photos from the outdoor deck, depending on weather conditions.
During the navigation, a boxed lunch is included. Before returning, the crew offers whisky served with glacier ice.
After the navigation, the boat returns to the pier.
Walk back to the parking lot
Ferrier Hill Hike
This challenging but beautiful hike starts from the area near Hotel Grey, following a path along the lake's western shore. Ferrier Hill is a relatively short but steep climb, taking about two hours to ascend and 1.5 hours to descend, depending on fitness and weather conditions.
The trail requires effort, as it is steep and has some rocky, slippery sections. The reward is a panoramic view from the lookout, including Grey Glacier, Grey Lake, Pehoe Lake, and the Paine mountain range. This short, intense trek takes around four hours (round-trip), and suits experienced hikers in good physical condition.
