Odfjell Winer Winery: A Chilean wine with a Norwegian soul
The Odfjell Winery will be our first destination. It is a family initiative of Norwegian ship merchant Dan Odfjell, who loved wine and horses. Finally, he could combine both passions.
When we arrive at Winery, you can see the famous stallions at the on-site stables, where Norwegian fjord horses are raised. We will take a relaxing walk around the green vineyards and discover everything about winemaking.
French winemaker Arnaud Hereu is in charge of the wines, mostly made from the red grapes of their Maipo estate, old-vine Carignan from Maule, and Malbec from Lontué in Curico.
Odfjell Vineyards has organic and biodynamic certifications for all of its output.
Santa Rita Winery
Next, we will continue our exploration of the oldest and most traditional vineyard in Chile - the Santa Rita Vineyard, located in the pre-Andean area of Alto Jahuel in Buin.
This is surrounded by a unique natural environment, where winemaking tradition, Chilean history, culture, and gastronomy coexist. Santa Rita Winery was selected as the World's Best Vineyards 2021, so we can explore its heritage, vineyards, winemaking, storage cellars, and bottling plants.
At the end of the vineyard tour, we can visit the Andean Museum, which forms part of the Santa Rita Vineyard. The museum has significant archaeological collections and several exhibition rooms dedicated to Rapa Nui, Diaguitas collections, Arica, San Pedro, and Mapuche cultures.
After, we will have lunch at the Winery's traditional restaurant.
Winery Antiyal - pioneer biodynamics in Chile
Next, our Maipo Valley wine tour will take us to Winery Antiyal, Chile's first certified biodynamic vineyard.
It is an initiative by the Espinoza Family, which is dedicated to producing wonderful handcrafted wines that accurately reflect the terroir of the Maipo Valley.
This Winery is primarily a family-owned operation that has developed sustainable winemaking in Chile. This boutique winery produces wines with balance, brightness, and an accurate representation of the land.
After a day filled with impressions and wine, the driver and guide will take you back to your hotel in Santiago.
