Santiago Historical Center & La Moneda Palace
Our private tour begins in the heart of Santiago's old city, starting at the iconic La Moneda Palace.
You'll explore the surrounding squares and the bustling streets of Morandé, Moneda, and Teatinos. We'll pass through Constitution Square, where you can view the Salvador Allende monument and the Regional Government building. A walk along vibrant Bandera Avenue leads us to Plaza de Armas, the historic heart of Santiago.
This square, once a sacred Incan ritual site, served as the focal point of the farthest southern Spanish colony during the conquest era, surrounded by stunning architectural gems like the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the National History Museum, and beautifully styled French "Beaux-Arts" commerce galleries.
Forestal Park & Santa Lucia Hill
Next, we will visit the Bellas Artes Museum (from the outside) and Forestal Park. Despite being far from Paris, Santiago surprises us with its classical French 19th-century architecture. The Bellas Artes Museum, beautifully decorated and situated in the center of a long grove of Old World Sycamore trees, showcases this influence.
Our tour of the historic center of Santiago will take us to Santa Lucia Hill, where Santiago de Chile was founded. We will walk through the hill's trails and reach the top fort for a panoramic view of the city. Behind the east side of Santa Lucia, we will explore the city's most bohemian area, Barrio Lastarria. Here, you will experience Santiago's artistic vibe and enjoy lunch at one of the numerous restaurants known for its high-quality food.
After lunch, we will continue exploring Santiago's colonial period by visiting the San Francisco Church and the Paris-Londres district, which has many antique buildings.
San Cristobal Hill
After exploring Santiago's colonial period, our tour heads toward the Bellavista Neighborhood. We ascend San Cristobal Hill by an antique funicular, leading to breathtaking panoramic views of Santiago, nestled in the palm of the Andes.
Sanhatten & Los Dominicos
Our tour will then take us to the modern district of Las Condes, an upper-middle-class neighborhood and business center known as Sanhattan.
Driving down Av. Apoquindo, we reach the Los Dominicos Craft market, a charming craft center located on the grounds of the Church of San Vicente Ferrer, a declared national monument. Here, you can discover a wide range of antiques and artisanal creations, including ceramics, textiles, metals, paintings, woodwork, leather goods, and glass items.
Our tour will conclude at your hotel.
