Quintessence specializes in the fine breeding and exportation of Suri and Huacaya alpacas and the processing, design, creation, and distribution of high-quality alpaca yarns and garments.

Cachagua and Las Cujas: Walk and Wildlife Exploration
Take a serene coastal walk from Cachagua's northern extreme along the surf to small turquoise Las Cujas Bay. We step on the trail that runs along rocky cliffs and offers a scenic route with stunning views of Chile's rugged coastline in its pristine state.
The geological formations sculpted by wind and waves over time in dramatic granite outcrops give a stunning photo experience and refuge for abundant marine wildlife—migratory and resident birds. Curiously, the sea temperature in Cachagua is always somewhat lower than that of neighboring beaches in the region. Meet Humboldt penguins - an endangered species native to the cold stream of the Humboldt Current. They live all year round on a tiny rocky Isla Cachagua, a protected sanctuary.
This piece of the shore is a birdwatcher's paradise, home to seagulls, pelicans, cormorants, Peruvian boobies, oystercatchers and more. Sea lions are hunting near the island, while tide pools along the route reveal crabs, anemones, and sea stars. Cypresses, cacti, and native succulents decorate the trail.
After connecting with nature and experiencing the Pacific coastline's tranquility, we return to your hotel.
