The experience includes a wine tasting in the Casablanca Valley at a winery such as Casas del Bosque or Casa Marin, as well as a visit to the Puro Caballo Equestrian Center. Here you’ll get a closer look at the life and traditions of the Chilean huasos, the skilled horsemen of the countryside, often compared to North American cowboys or Argentine gauchos. Horse Show & Traditional Chilean Lunch
In the Casablanca Valley, you’ll visit the Puro Caballo Show, where Chilean traditions come to life. This event celebrates equestrian art as an important part of the country’s identity.
This tradition is rooted in the strong bond between the huaso (similar to America’s cowboy or Argentina’s gaucho) and his horse, showcasing skills and knowledge passed down through generations.
This show is far from casual.
The dance on horseback comes from real livestock work and rodeo skills, not staged routines. Every movement depends on careful communication between rider and horse.
Movements follow live music, with the horse matching the rhythm through careful steps and pauses, creating a performance that is precise and uniquely Chilean.
After the show, you’ll enjoy a traditional Chilean barbecue, known as an asado.
Transfer to Santiago
After lunch, you’ll head along Route 68 to Santiago. The drive takes about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. As you get closer to Santiago, the scenery shifts from vineyard valleys to the city basin, with the Andes Mountains rising in the distance.
Santiago
You’ll arrive in Santiago in the afternoon.
